Deleting Your Data

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Texas Fly Fishing Journal gives you full control over your data. You can delete individual records at any time without deleting your account, or delete your account and all associated data entirely. This page explains both.

Delete specific data (without deleting your account)

You can remove individual records directly in the app, while keeping your account and everything else intact:

  1. Open the app and navigate to the specific catch, trip, spot, gear item, or fly you want to remove.
  2. Open that item and use the Delete option.
  3. Confirm the deletion. The record is removed immediately, and any photos attached only to that record are deleted with it.

Deleting an individual record does not affect your account or any of your other data.

Delete all your data and your account

To permanently delete your account and everything associated with it, use either method below:

  • In the app: go to Settings → Delete My Account and confirm. This removes your account and data immediately.
  • By email: email support@texasflyfishingjournal.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from the email address tied to your account. We will action your request within 5 days.

In both cases, your personal data is fully removed from our systems — including any copies held in backups — within 30 days. A confirmation email is sent once deletion is complete.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove all of the following:

  • Catches (species, length, weight, notes)
  • Trips (water, date, duration, notes)
  • Spots and saved locations
  • Gear and flies
  • Photos you have uploaded
  • Your profile and account details
  • Your leaderboard entries, if you opted into the public leaderboard
  • AI-generated Pattern Insights and any other content stored in your account

What is retained, and for how long

After deletion, your personal data is gone. The only exception is:

  • Payment records: Stripe, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat retain minimal transaction records (such as a customer ID and purchase history) as required by law for tax and anti-fraud purposes. These records do not contain your catches, photos, or journal data.

For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
